OVERVIEW
The magician carries in a small, plain wooden box. He places a small silk handkerchief inside, and closes the box.
The magician then invites the burliest, strongest man in the audience to lift the box. Strangely, he finds he cannot!
The magician removes the silk, and the spectator is able to lift the box!
This is one of the legendary effects from Robert-Houdin, said to have aided the French government in squelching the Marabout rebellion in 1856. Updated for the modern age, with a modern method, this elegant, classic effect is made in the USA.
The box measures approx. 8"x8"x9.5".
